[leaving Nippon, Zack knew he wouldn't see anyone again - so that might play just a tiny piece in his excitement to see Eiden, too. Because he really isn't supposed to.
With a little hum he leans against the bar, peering down to see where the bartender is, what the bar looks like - gotta look around and take it in, since he doesn't do this too often. He chuckles] The ones with Uki in them were pretty good. If they have anything like that here, I'm sure it'll be a little more obvious.
[he likes to think so, anyway. He sits back and folds his arms on the bar]
I'll have what you are - it worked out the last time I did it.
Oh, they were amazing. And the experiences as a result of them were pretty great, too.
[ He has zero complaints about his Uki experiences, but he's certain others have a different experience. Still, he's delighted that he has someone to talk about these things. He didn't know if he'd get that chance. There's people from Klein here, sure, but that's not the same as having been to Nippon. ]
It worked out great the last time. I definitely wouldn't take anything back, at least.
[ The bartender seems friendly, and the bar itself isn't too elaborately decorated. It makes Eiden feel like he's allowed to like - touch the furniture, lean on things, stuff like that while here. Stuffy places kind of make him feel like he shouldn't touch too many things. He doesn't let his eyes linger on the bartender for long and instead shifts his attention to Zack while the bartender approaches to take their drink orders. ]
[while his experience isn't a lot, Zack has no complaints about the times he's encountered uki, either. Thinking back, it wasn't that often. Somehow, he'd managed to avoid a good chunk of the . . . spicier things in Nippon. Not by choice, mind you.
But he's of the same mind as Eiden with places like this. He doesn't feel like he belongs in the fancier ones; he's not some high roller and he's far from someone who's anywhere close to fancy, so places like this suit him best. He doesn't have to be as self-aware of things like the decor and can focus more on the experience - and the person he's with]
Hah, me too. [the grin on his face threatens to get bigger] You might be the only one I experienced it with for sure.
Am I? I'm surprised. You're a handsome, adventurous guy. I'd think you'd have more experiences with Uki.
[ Not that he had a lot of experiences with it himself. But it had been fun each time he did, even though he was usually exhausted the following day. But, that being said - Zack is easy to compliment and he's certainly taking the opportunity to dish them out while the bartender gets their drink orders and starts to prepare them. He didn't catch what was in the drink (fruit flavors, some alcohol which he's sure he'll be hardly able to taste with the fruit flavors), but when he watched it being made it was a bright orange to pink ombre. ]
[the compliments are more than welcome, never stop complimenting him]
Believe it or not, I only went on a couple of dates and most of them were with you.
[not that he wasn't interested or even tried, but it had been more natural to fall into doing work than worrying about dating outside of all the flirting he did with the girls who worked in the shops around his. If he'd been 18 again, then it would have been an entirely different story.
The bartender sets their drinks in front of them and wanders away, and Zack picks his up curiously to peer at the ombre before glancing back to Eiden] Think we should toast? Here's to more good times in a brand new place, maybe?
[ He really is, too. It's obvious to anyone who's spent time around him when there's attractive men int he vicinity - but Eiden is a massive flirt. He didn't have a lot of time for dates at home, but when he was in Nippon, he did. Not that he went on all that money, anyway - but there wasn't anything stopping him.
He lifts his glass up and offers it in a toast. ]
To more good times. To meeting more people, and making more friends.
[Zack can be as flirty as Eiden, as he knows - and while it isn't as obvious around guys, it'll still come out with a little prompting. Because Zack is shameless and having someone flirt back is just as great as flustering them, in his opinion. And that first one is pretty rare.
He smiles and clinks his glass against Eiden's]
To all of that and living life to its fullest.
[which includes all that, really, but is worth adding anyway]
[ Eiden clinks his glass against Zack's and grins at the toast itself. Since he left home, it's been easier and easier to live life at the fullest. So, he brings the drink back and takes a sip of it, since they both said their toasts. ]
It's not as sweet as it looks. Pretty good!
[ He expected it to be very sweet, though. And he doesn't mind anything sweet, either. ]
[he decided a while ago that he had to take advantage of all of this, so encouraging others to do so is just the next, logical step. He follows Eiden in taking a sip, making a pleasantly surprised noise at the taste. He was expecting much sweeter, too]
That's not bad at all. [it can go on the short list of things he knows to order at bars]
Do you have any plans yet? For what you're going to do here.
[ The truth is...he doesn't know exactly how to answer Zack's question. He had a job at home, he had a mission in Klein, he had something he was starting in Nippon, but he hasn't figured out anything here. Not yet, at least. There was a lot of ways to go here. But, he did have one thought he could share. ]
I may finally finish what I started in Nippon. I'm also pretty good at making clothes. Well, really good at it. Maybe I can do that. I mean, we're starting over. Can do whatever you want, you know?
What about you? I can't imagine you not making the best of it.
[Zack turns a little to give Eiden his full attention, drink in hand. He's genuinely interested, he's always been so single-minded about the things he's wanted to do in the past that sometimes he'd prefer that over having all the options he does. He nods along, trying to remember he'd asked what Eiden did before, but -]
Making clothes sounds like a really handy skill to have. You'll have to show me, even if you decide to do something else. What were you going to do in Nippon?
[a sheepish little grin]
I haven't decided yet. I thought about doing what I did in Nippon too, but there's the guilds, too - I'm just taking temporary jobs until I can see how all that goes.
[ Eiden has always been a bit of a jack of all trades. He's spent so long hopping from job to job that when he settled down in his career on Earth, it was a surprise and relief. He's glad for the job he had, despite how busy he always was. Despite how much it destroyed his social life. He did, ultimately, enjoy it.
But the change of pace had been nice. ]
I was a sex toy designer.
[ Said shamelessly and certainly loud enough to draw a glance from the bar tender. Not that he had intended to draw attention, but he's so unbothered by it that it doesn't occur that this could be considered polite company. ]
Which I was also really good at. ...This place, it's different in a lot of ways, but in others -- it's the same. You have a lot of chances to find something.
